Carolyn Allard Obituary

Carolyn L. (Page) Allard, 81, of Slatersville, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of Ernest Allard whom she married May 21, 1966. Born in Woonsocket on July 21, 1944, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Oliver E. French and Mary K. (Donohue-Page) French.

Along with her husband Ernest, she is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Allard and his wife, Jill, of Slatersville, and James Allard and his wife, Robin, of Slatersville; and three grandchildren, Morgan Gillis, and Samantha and James Allard. She was the sister of the late George and Frederick Page, and Ann Zoltek. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and loyal friend.

Carolyn was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and the Katharine Gibbs school, where she earned her secretarial executive degree in 1963. Mrs. Allard went on to work as an administrative assistant for St. Antoine for thirty-five years before retiring in 2017. Carolyn was the true matriarch of her family and had a deep devotion to her family, faith, and Irish heritage. Carolyn's second home was on Hog Island, where she and Ernie spent every summer since 1986. She and Ernie were beloved members of the community and were involved in every event. Carolyn's favorites included the Fourth of July parade, field day, the chowder cook off, and the craft fair.

You could always find Carolyn sitting outside of her family home with a cup of tea in hand, reading a favorite book, and soaking in a beautiful day. She had a talent for baking and her desserts would brighten anyone's day. Carolyn always remembered each person's favorite treat - whether it was cookies, gingerbread cake, Billy brownies, or raspberry squares. Carolyn had a true love for flowers and had a remarkable green thumb. She decorated her home beautifully with them and could name every variety with ease.

She was the best hostess, supporter of her family's dreams, and had the unique gift to make every person in her life feel special.
