Carolyn K. Cox, 90, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023 at Oakland Grove Health Center. She was the wife of the late William Cox. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Bailey) Rankine.
Carolyn was raised in Pawtucket but resided in Cumberland most of her life. She retired from Pawtucket Mutual Insurance in 1995 and enjoyed many years working at Ann & Hope in the Small Appliance Dept. Carolyn was gifted with “an ear for music,” enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music of the “Big Band Era.” She was a collector of antiques, enjoyed visiting Historical sites throughout New England and her yearly family vacation on Cape Cod. In her later years she took comfort in spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Robert Hruska, Nancy Magee and Pamela Bleyer, and her husband John, all of Cumberland; three grandchildren, James Magee, Nicholas and Grace Bleyer.
There will be a private burial at Swan Point Cemetery followed by a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
