Cecile R. (Trudell) Godin, 90, of North Smithfield, passed away October 20, 2025 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the former spouse of the late Maurice Caouette, and wife of the late Roger Godin. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Aurore (Vadnais) Trudell.
Mrs. Godin worked as a bank teller for the former Eastland Bank, retiring in 1987. Cecile was an accomplished concert pianist through her mid 20's. She enjoyed dining out, especially at Kay's, enjoyed playing BINGO, and she had a sharp mind for playing puzzle games and cards. Cecile was also a proud homemaker and appreciated any opportunity to care for her family.
She is survived by three children, Pierre Caouette and his wife, Cathy, of Portland, ME, Michelle Murphy and her husband, Paul, of Cumberland, and Marc Caouette and his wife, Michele, of North Smithfield; two stepchildren, Roger Godin of Landisville, PA, and Nadine Godin-Nassaney of Kalamazoo, MI; fourteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Jacqueline Chamberland; and sister of the late Henry Trudell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
