Charles P Nadeau, 82, of North Smithfield passed away at RIH on Friday September 29, 2017. Charlie was the husband of Rita L. (Laliberte) Nadeau and they were married for 56+ years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his three children; Gail M. Nadeau, Glenn C. Nadeau, and partner Ron J. Rowe, and Kim A. (Nadeau) Mathieu and her husband David R. Mathieu, and beloved granddaughter Grace K. Mathieu.
Charlie served in the United States Air Force for four years, stationed in Japan for two years, continuing his active duty working at the Pentagon in Washington, DC as a cryptographer for his final two years.
He worked for almost thirty years for Rhode Island Hospital Trust Bank in their Data Output division, continuing his career there as they changed to Bank Boston/Bank of America retiring in 1996.
He was active for many years at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish for different events, and served as Eucharistic Minister for over 30 years.
Charlie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His granddaughter Grace was the apple of his eyea true delight for him. He was known for his keen sense of humor and easy laugh, love of big band and swing jazz music, andwas a magnet for every family pet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Thursday October 5, 2017 at 11AM, in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket, with military honors following Mass. There will be no calling hours, but the family will greet friends in the vestibule at the church. Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
