Clare (Beaulieu) Caldeira

Clare (Beaulieu) Caldeira, 96, of North Smithfield, died January 13, 2025 in the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Denis Caldeira, to whom she was married 45 years. Born November 11, 1928 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Albina (Martineau) Beaulieu.

Clare grew up in Montreal, Canada. As a young girl, she was a champion speed skater and loved parades. Clare met the love of her life, Denis, and they married in 1950, before relocating to the US in 1954. She loved to sew and used her skills to make clothing for her family, including her daughter's wedding dress. Clare had beautiful handwriting and corresponded with friends and family around the world all her life. She made friends easily and loved to laugh. She was devoted to the Rosary and her Blessed Mother, Mary, and made a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Fatima in Portugal.

She was unfailingly generous and warmly giving, with a stout sense of justice, a delightful sense of humor, and quiet independence, overcoming adversities to be a blessing to many over her 96 years.

She leaves her children, Joanne Benoit and her husband, Paul, of Harrisville and Robert Caldeira of Warwick; four grandchildren, Amy Frappier and her husband, Brian, Jason Caldeira, Andrew Benoit and his wife, Faz, and Michael Benoit and his wife, Stacy; four great grandsons, Luc Frappier; William, Burke and Connor Clair Benoit; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Caldeira; two brothers, Albert and Claude Beaulieu; and two sisters, Gilberte Lacroix and Pierrette Beaulieu.

Her funeral will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1 PM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM in Our Lady of Good Help Church, 1063 Victory Highway, Mapleville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
