Danielle Palmer Obituary

On the first day of summer, June 21, 2022, Danielle Lucie Palmer joined her Heavenly Father after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She will be a shining light on the longest day of the year.

Danielle was born and raised in Paris, France to Lucienne Royer and René Ghislandi. After losing her mother at a young age, her father, Rene remarried Germaine Francois.

Addition to France, Danielle lived in Germany, Samoa, Alaska and her current home in Washington State. She experienced many cultures and fully enjoyed the beauty of our world.

Danielle had a career in retail and the hospitality industry. Owning and operating restaurants, currently The Oyster and Thistle in La Conner. She was always a hard worker, dedicated to providing excellent food, environment and service for her guests with a little Frank Sinatra in the background.

Danielle and Thomas were married in a secret, undisclosed place outside of Seattle and they have been together for a wonderful 35 years. True partners at home, work and in life and always a welcoming couple at both work and home. Home was her oasis, with art, style and a beautiful yard.

Danielle enjoyed life and her energy and passion, and could light up a room.

She was passionate about dogs, rescue shelters, gardening and travel. Her Shih Tzu's were her precious companions. Danielle was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Conner.

Danielle is preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, brother Alain Ghislandi, sister Nicole Ghislandi, and her beautiful Daughter Natlialie Guis.

Danielle is survived by her husband Thomas Palmer, son Gerald Ghislandi, brother Yves and sister-in-law Dagmar Ghislandi, her sister Ghislaine Ghislandi and her son-in-law Daniel Guis. Danielle has 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

There will be a small Catholic mass in La Conner and a final interment will be in the Palmer Family plot in Rhode Island.

Special thank you to Father Paul Magnano, Dr. Meghan Sweeney, and the nurses, doctors and staff at Island Hospital who took such special care of Danielle.
