David C. Contildes

David C. Contildes, 74, of Slatersville, died February 11, 2021 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Bishop) Contildes, whom he married January 25, 1997.Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Alfred C. Contildes, Sr. and Olive (Daniels) Contildes.

David was a Marine Corps veteran. After his discharge from the military, he worked as a steeple jack, and a fisherman in Narragansett.He later received Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Social Work from Rhode Island College.He worked as a drug counselor for the Providence Center, retiring in 2009.David was an animal lover, and was known in surrounding areas from walking with his dog, Winchester.

Besides his wife, he leaves his daughters, Hannah Contildes of North Smithfield, and Erin Pickens of Florida; his son, David Morgan; his stepsons, David Pellerin of North Smithfield and Jeremy Omar of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Cameron, Mary, Bella, and Kyra.He was predeceased by his daughter, Molly Contildes; his stepdaughter, Kristen Pellerin; his brother, Alfred Contildes, Jr.; and his sister, Frances Sifferman.

Funeral arrangements for David will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rhode Island SPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915.
