David A. Coulombe, 57, of New Port Richey, FL, formally of Woonsocket, died April 29, 2019 in his home. Born in Minot, ND, he was the beloved son of Joseph Moe M. and Lucille (Beaudet) Coulombe of Woonsocket.
David graduated from Woonsocket High School, class 79, then went on to graduate from Southwood School of Nursing. He was a LPN nurse for 35 years, serving and loving his elderly patients both in RI and in FL. His main focus all of his life was his elderly patients, who he would spend time with, listen to their life stories, take pictures with and even post about his time spent with them on Facebook. His love for these elderly patients was tremendous! One year David brought one of his wheelchair bound patients to his parents home so the gentleman could enjoy watching the Red Sox game and have a couple brewskis. He was such a kind, loving and gentle soul. He was an avid New England sports fan and also enjoyed golfing and bowling. David had a love for music and was a former bass guitar player for the band Century. Most of all, he loved his children, two beautiful Golden Retrievers, Tuukka and RJ.
Besides his parents, Moe and Lucille, David was the older brother to his five siblings, James J. Coulombe and his wife Carolyn of Woonsocket; Michael F. Coulombe of Woonsocket; Christine A. Fera and her husband Paul of Cranston; Thomas A. Coulombe and his wife Neia of Woonsocket and Paula Dubois of Woonsocket. As well as five nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held May 19, 2019 at 3:30 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket. Family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a Charity of Ones Choice.
