David A. Young, Sr.

David A. Young, Sr., 43, of Blackstone, passed away May 23, 2026 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Susan (Heywood) Young of Harrisville and the late Wallace "Big Butch" Young, Sr.

David was a dedicated carpenter and foreman for GBI Construction, Douglas, MA where he worked hard every day. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking, and camping, especially in upstate New York. David loved spending time with his family and friends, his two cats, Nite and Tux, and will always be remembered as the life of any party he was at.

Along with his mother, Susan, David is survived by his children, David Young, Jr. of Calgary, Canada, and Bonnie Young of Harrisville; his brother, Butch Young of Greenville; his sister, Melissa Young of Harrisville; his nieces, Bryanna Sawyer and Jayde Young; and his long term girlfriend, Shannon Landry of Blackstone.

His funeral will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 beginning with visitation at 1PM followed by a service at 4PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
