Diane (Gelinas) Powers

Diane Powers, 80, of Sebastian, FL, died October 25, 2024. She was the wife of Dennis Powers of Sebastian, FL. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Theodore "Ted" and Lillia Gelinas.

Diane graduated from Boston College, then went on to work as a French and Spanish teacher at Avon School. She was a bookworm, she loved to read and always believed there was "so many books, not enough days." She went to the library in 1992, wanting to join a book club, and when she learned there was none, she started one.

Besides her husband, Dennis, she is survived by her sister, Estelle Masson and her husband Robert of North Truro, Cape Cod; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Jackie Emidy.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a service at 12PM.
