Doris B. Donovan, 101, of North Smithfield, passed away December 2, 2024 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Cornelius F. Donovan. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late George and Leona (Bibeault) Wright.
Doris was a graduate of the former St. Clare High School, Woonsocket. She worked as a sales clerk for the former McCarthy's Department Store and for the former S&H Green Stamps. She was an active volunteer at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs church and while living on the Cape she regularly volunteered at the MayFlower Nursing Home. While a resident at The Villa in North Smithfield, Doris was recognized for her ten years of committed volunteering in the Villa's gift shop.
Doris is survived by three daughters, Ann Englund and her husband, William Sr., of Hopedale, MA, Kathryn Murphy and her husband, Scott, of Lincoln,RI and Patricia Silveira and her husband, William, of Uxbridge, MA; five grandchildren, William Englund, Jr. and his wife, Mary Hunter, Katherine Karalis and her husband, Zachary, Corey Murphy, Erik Silveira, and Katelyn Silveira; as well as, a great grandson, William Englund III. She was the sister of the late Ernest Wright, Arthur Wright, Eugene Wright and John Wright, Aurore Dean, and Beatrice Bilodeau.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 beginning with visitation at 8:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Church St., Slatersville.
