Doris T. (Boisvert) McKenna

Doris (Boisvert) McKenna, 76, of Woonsocket, passed away September 4, 2023 in Oakland Grove Health Care, Woonsocket. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Claire (Gamache) Boisvert.



Doris earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Rhode Island College and worked as a teacher for Little Peoples and Stork Nest Child's Academy, retiring in 2013. She was an active member of the former Sacred Heart Church, where she taught CCD for seventeen years, as well as, ran Girl Scouts and assisted the CYO. She loved art and painting, and always volunteered with organizations geared towards helping children.



She is survived by her five children, Sharon Stanton and her husband, Patrick, of Attleboro, Eric McKenna and his wife, Kimberly of Watertown, MN, Amy Chaffee of North Smithfield, Christine McKenna of Harrisville, and Shawn McKenna of Woonsocket; a brother, Gerard Boisvert of North Fort Myers, FL; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Nathan, Saige, Emily, Corey, Madison, Brady, Reilly and Patrick; and two great grandchildren.



Her funeral will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 beginning with visitation at 10:30 in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
