Dorothy E. (Guenther) Scott

Dorothy E. (Guenther) Scott, 89, formerly of North Smithfield and Narragansett, died September 30, 2025, in The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the wife of the late Irving A. Scott, to whom she was married for 54 years. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Alice E. (Ashworth) Guenther.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Xavier's Academy and Bryant College. From 1980 to 2001, she served as a Faculty Services Coordinator at Bryant. Dotty was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Parish and had a deep love for music, theatre, and reading. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and was deeply devoted to her beloved husband.

She leaves her children, Mary Ann Scott of Harrison, NY, Michael Scott and his wife, Erin, of North Smithfield, and Nancy Alice Scott and her husband, Timothy Mann of Belmont, MA; five grandchildren, Alice, Nolan, Elizabeth and her husband, Wesley, Emmilee and Elaina.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 AM followed by a service at Noon in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
