Edward McCooey Obituary
Edward A. McCooey, 70, of Blackstone, died August 31, 2021 at home. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Honorable Edwin McCooey and Mary (Eddy) McCooey.
Edward was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph McCooey and his wife, Carolyn, of South Kingstown; his nephew, Edwin McCooey and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Harper and Jameson, of North Kingstown; and two nieces, Elizabeth Fisher and her husband, Patrick, and their children, Beaudry and Coleton, of New York City, NY, and Rosemary Summers and her husband, Lt. Col. Phillip Summers, and their Children, Georgia, Kennedy, and William, of Ferrara, Italy.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edwards name may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
