Edward Wright Obituary

Edward R. Wright, 78, of North Smithfield passed away peacefully at his beloved home on Woonsocket Hill Road Friday, December 21, 2018. Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Robidoux) Wright, Edward grew up and lived on Woonsocket Hill Road his entire life. He was a graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy.

Edward was a proud American entrepreneur and business man. He was a third-generation dairy farmer, who owned and operated Wrights Dairy Farm Bakery. His passion was his business but believed that family always came first. He was awarded and recognized for many achievements in herd management, agriculture, and diverse farming practices including the New England Green Pastures Award multiple times.

He was a creative thinker, a perceptive and shrewd leader, and was keen to financial trends (he read his Wall Street Journal daily). He was a talented carpenter and woodworker, who was able to build anything out of used, repurposed wood. He enjoyed classic and antique cars and tractors, and was a fan of NASCAR, the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He is survived by his former wife Claire (Bissonnette) Boudreault, his four children Ellen R. Puccetti and her husband Steven of North Smithfield, Jennifer A. Roberts and her husband David of Burrillville, Elizabeth W. Dulude and her husband Paul of Burrillville, Clayton E. Wright and his wife Amanda of North Smithfield. He was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren - Rachel Brong and her husband Jared of Uxbridge MA, Andrew Puccetti of North Smithfield, Cathryn Kennedy and her husband Brendan of North Smithfield, Benjamin Roberts of North Smithfield, Samantha Roberts, Jayne Roberts, Madeleine Dulude, Grace Dulude, all of Burrillville, Molly Wright, Evelyn Wright and Wylder Wright of North Smithfield. He was also survived by two cherished great grandchildren, Lydia and Jude Brong. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his only sibling, Richard G. Wright.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist, 63 Church St. Slatersville, RI. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4-7PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, RI.
