Elaine L Dwyer passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket at the age of 93. She was born on April 13, 1930 in North Providence the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Tavernier) Pfefferle. She married William T Dwyer Sr. on May 17, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2005.
Elaine graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1948. She and her husband owned and operated very successful restaurants. The Town Chef, Blackstone MA, The Bocce Club, Woonsocket, The Coachman's Lodge, Bellingham. The Town Plaza, Town & Country Gifts. Elaine was the driving force and together they were an exceptional team. Elaine was an extraordinary business women and among the first woman in Rhode Island to work for a dealership selling cars. She quickly gained the respect and admiration from her fellow male colleagues. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother. She was fair, honest and selfless. Elaine had a generous heart and compassionate to those less fortunate.
Elaine is survived by sons John "Jack" Dwyer (Jane), William T. Dwyer Jr., Niece Christine Young: her son Justin Young, her daughter, Mary-Beth. Grandchildren Angela Crossman, Billy Dwyer and Darren Dwyer. Great Grandchildren: Dylan and Connor, Special friends Lucy Adewuyi and Elizabeth Tabiti.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Titherington and Lorraine Riopel.
A private graveside service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11am in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone MA. Funeral arrangements are provided by Holt Funeral Home, Woonsocket.
