Eloise Arel Obituary

Eloise A. (Mandeville) Arel, 71, of North Smithfield, died May 23, 2025 in her home, surrounded by all of her family. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Yvonne (Taschereau) Mandeville.

Eloise worked many years at Superior Healthcare, Cumberland before purchasing and operating the Arena Cafe, Woonsocket. She also worked as a waitress for the former Mezza Luna, North Smithfield, Chelo’s and Patriot's Diner, Woonsocket. She had many side jobs which included Avon sales and in-home demonstrations for Home Interiors. Hobbies of hers included ceramics and cake decorating. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, dining out and the occasional Perfect Margarita or shot of Jack.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Dufresne of North Smithfield; her partner of 25 years, Bernard Bonin of North Smithfield; her sisters, Estelle Williams and her husband Robert of Pawtucket, and Lisa Johnson of Ocala, FL; and her grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored, Megan and Richard Dufresne. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Mandeville Jr., and Elaine Morel.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 4-7PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741
