Emile J. Laramee, 97, of North Smithfield, passed away on April 18, 2026, at The Holiday Retirement Home. He was the husband of Lorraine (Sawyer) Laramee. In 2025, they celebrated their 76th anniversary. Born in Blackstone, he was the son of the late Misael J. Laramee, Jr. and the late Irene (Martin) Laramee.
Mr. Laramee served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1953, stationed in Alaska as a mechanic. Following his military service, he worked at several jobs in Woonsocket before starting L & L Dozer Service in 1959. His company specialized in land clearing and the operation of heavy equipment.
In addition to his wife, Lorraine, he is survived by their daughter, Suzanne Connolly and her husband, Wayne, of Harrisville; two sisters, Theresa Bousquet of Woonsocket and Aurore Comire of Indian Land, SC; and four grandchildren, Brad Laramee, Marc Laramee and his fiancée, Holly, Thomas Connolly and his wife, Heather, and Scott Connolly and his wife, Regina. He also leaves two great-grandchildren, Marlowe and James Connolly. He was predeceased by his son, Richard Laramee, and his grandson, Kevin Laramee.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 27, 2026, beginning with visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at noon at Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
