Estelle Tobin Obituary

Estelle M. (Page) Tobin, 89, of Smithfield, lovingly known as "Mimi" passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, in the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Woonsocket, she was the beloved daughter of the late Deus and Rena (Lefort) Page.

After graduating from Anna Maria College, Estelle earned her Master's Degree in Education from Rhode Island College and dedicated her life to teaching for over 30 years in the North Smithfield School System, spending a majority of her career as a second-grade teacher where she was beloved by students and colleagues alike. She retired from North Smithfield Elementary School in 2004. Estelle was an extremely talented artist with a love for lighthouses, jigsaw puzzles, coloring and reading. As a young girl, she enjoyed doing ballet and tap, playing basketball, cooking for her dad, and found such joy watching baseball with her dad.

In addition to being a woman of God, she was a devoted and loving mother, who always enjoyed spending time with her children, including every school vacation, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a huge heart, warm and sweet personality, and was adored by so many, especially her family and friends. Now that she has passed through the gates of Heaven and gained her angel wings, she will be forever missed and always cherished in the hearts of many.

Estelle leaves behind three daughters, Kathleen Judkins and her husband Brian of Spencer, MA; Ann Tobin and her longtime partner, George McDonough of Franklin, MA; and Eileen Tobin, with whom she lived and who was her caregiver until her passing . She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Judkins, Matthew Judkins and his wife Tierney, Kathryn Smith and her husband Taylor, Mackenzie Yarter, and Gabriella Tobin, her great-grandson, Conner Smith; her brother, Joseph Page of Texas; her sister, Vivian Niedzwiadek of New York, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Yarter, and her sister, Constance Tremblay.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket.
