Eugene F. Provoyeur, 83, of North Smithfield, passed away November 21, 2025 at home, with family by his side. He was the cherished, beloved husband of Claire (Perron) Provoyeur and married for sixty-four years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Fidel and Yvette (Laqueire) Provoyeur. Joining the United States Marine Corps in 1959 at the age of 17, Eugene honorably served at Camp Lejeune North Carolina with the 2d Battalion, 6th Marines. Eugene was a self-employed painting contractor and the owner of E.F. Provoyeur Co. for thirty-seven years. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Manville Sportsman club, Sayles Hill Rod & Gun club, and a supporter of multiple charities and organizations. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, collecting and shooting firearms, travel, playing cards, reading, and anything Marine Corps. Eugene was a giving, hardworking, honest, and loyal friend. He was a man who always put his family first and was willing, often volunteering, to assist wherever he could. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and even more from the family he left behind.
Along with his wife, Claire, he is survived by their children, Karen Cessaroni and her husband, Roldo, of North Smithfield, Kenneth Provoyeur and his companion, Jennifer, of North Smithfield, Arthur Provoyeur and his wife, Danielle, of Melbourne, FL, their adopted children Anthony Provoyeur of North Smithfield, and Tara Provoyeur of Connecticut; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Eugene “TJ” Provoyeur, and brother of the late Roger Provoyeur and Paulette Marsh.
