Eugene "Zeeny" R. Arel

Eugene R. Arel "Zeeny" age 65 passed away from pancreatic cancer on June 29, 2025 at home with his wife Debra (Gendron) Arel by his side. He was Debbie's best friend for 35 years.

Zeeny loved music, playing his guitars, liked playing pool, cooking, working with his hands- building things, doing carpentry, repairing things in the house and on vehicles. He was a hands-on dad with his boys from day one. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and most of the time had a smile on his face.  He loved spending time with his 3 sons, with family, and with friends.

He worked as maintenance supervisor at Woonsocket Senior Center for Senior Services/Aging Well. He was a sign installer for Crossroads Real Estate Group. He will be missed by all that knew him, especially his wife and sons.

He was father to Glen Gendron and wife, Meka, of Woonsocket, Corey Arel and wife, Ellie, of Douglas, MA, and Jacob Arel and his partner, Candis, of Woonsocket. He has 2 granddaughters; Kayliana Hamiltom of Woonsocket and Hailey Arel of Douglas, MA. He was the son of Marcel and Yolande (Laramee) Arel of Woonsocket; and brother to Madeleine Arel and her husband, Milton, of California, Marcel Arel and his partner, Lizette, of Woonsocket, and Raymond Arel of Woonsocket.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
