Gary Romblad Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Bruce Romblad, Sr., 73 who died peacefully on January 19, 2025 at Mt. St. Rita Health Centre in Cumberland RI, with family by his side. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Gary was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend whose vibrant spirit and passion for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Gary was the son of Walter Romblad, Sr. and Violet (Laduceur) Romblad and grew up surrounded by the love of his family.


He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Walter Romblad, Jr. and Kenneth Romblad. He is survived by his ex-wife, Rolande Romblad of Uxbrige, MA, and their three sons-Gary Jr. of Magnolia, New Jersey; Jason of Woonsocket, RI; and Chad Romblad of Acushnet, MA-who were the pride and joy of his life. Gary is also survived by his brother, Wayne Romblad, Sr., and wife Claire of Woonsocket, RI and two sisters, Beverly Moran and husband Thomas J. of Jones,Oklahoma and Diane Dinges and husband Donald of Danielson, Connecticut, who will forever hold fond memories of their times together, 2 Grandchildren Kayla and Joshua, 3 great grandchildren, Kylie,Cayden, and Nathan and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved greatly.

Gary was a passionate sports fan, dedicating his heart to all teams from New England. Whether it was cheering from the stands or discussing the latest game stats, his enthusiasm was infectious and brought joy to those around him. He also loved playing softball, a sport that brought him camaraderie and the thrill of competition. In addition to sports, Gary found pleasure in reading his daily newspapers, often immersing himself in the stories that captured his interest. His kindness and generosity extended beyond his immediate family, as he touched the lives of many in his community. He will be remembered for his warm smile, keen sense of humor, and the heartfelt conversations that left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to spend time with him.

Gary's funeral will be held at Cornerstone Church, 6 Hartford Avenue, Uxbridge MA on February 8, 2025. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 AM with the service at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of an unforgettable man who gave so much to those around him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to A Wish Come True of RI, 6 Jefferson Drive, Coventry, RI 02816, honoring Gary's spirit of love of children and support for his family. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
