Gayle Diane Alves, 72, of Woonsocket, passed away on February 23, 2025, at Landmark Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Irving and Barbara (Moore) Vose.
Gayle's life was a tapestry of vibrant experiences and deep emotions. She grew up at 7 Westwood Drive in Cumberland with her two brothers and parents. She attended Cumberland High School briefly before her restless spirit led her to Pawtucket, where she met her first husband. They married and had their son, Christian. Gayle later remarried and had a daughter, Jessica, who was her pride and joy.
After moving to Pawtucket with two kids in tow, Gayle began working at Fram, a job she held for several years to support her two children.
Gayle's life was marked by both joy and hardship. She loved her family deeply, including her two grandchildren from Jessica, Kyle and Oceania, whom she adored. After Jessica's passing, she found solace in her friendships, particularly with her brother Kevin, her long-standing friend, Keri, and her dear friend, Jim.
Gayle later found a new calling to help people and worked as a CNA, a job she both loved and hated. She enjoyed visiting the ocean and mountains with her family, listening to old rock and roll, and collecting photographs. She was known for her passionate nature and her ability to hold on tightly to the things she loved.
She is survived by her son, Christian Richard, and his wife Linda, of Seattle, WA; her brother, Kevin Vose of Woonsocket; and her two grandchildren, Kyle and Oceania. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jessica Alves, and her brother, Wayne Vose.
Her funeral will be held on March 15th from 2-4:00PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of the programs that helped make a difference in her life; The Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness, 225 Dyer Street, 2nd Floor, Providence, RI 02903; Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island, 70 Bath St, Providence RI 02908; or to Community Care Alliance, Attn: Communication/Development Department, P.O. Box 1700, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
Rest in peace, Gayle. You earned it.
