Genevieve A. (King) Heywood

Genevieve A. (King) Heywood, 85, a resident of Bayberry Commons, Pascoag, died December 3, 2023 in Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Roderick Anthony Heywood, Sr. whom she married April 14, 1956 in St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville, NY. Born in Dannemora, NY, she was the youngest daughter of Napoleon and Amelia (Agony) King.

Genevieve worked for Miller Electric for 20 years, until her retirement. She was a member of the former St. Augustine Church, Millville, MA. She enjoyed baking, homemaking, flea markets, flowers and plants, berry picking, puzzles, card games, and bird watching - she always made sure the birds who visited her yard were well fed.

She leaves her children, Deborah A. Garneau, and her husband, Louis, of Harrisville; James Heywood and his wife, Cynthia, of Uxbridge; Susan Young, wife of the late Wallace Young of Harrisville; Kim Heywood and his wife, Jane, of Uxbridge, MA; Timothy Heywood and his wife, Amanda, of Blackstone, MA, Roderick Heywood, Jr., and his wife, Hope, of Saranac, NY, Patricia LaChance, and her life partner, Buddy Magnant of Putnam, CT; and Matthew Heywood and his wife Jamie, of Douglas, MA; her brother-in-law, Cletus Heywood of Plattsburgh, NY; 26 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cecile Ferrie, and her husband, Richard; two brothers; and 13 sisters.

Her visitation will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10 AM - Noon, followed by a service at Noon in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
