Gerald L. Fontaine, Sr.

Gerald L. Fontaine, Sr., 73, of Harrisville, died March 7, 2021 in the Phillip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Linda (Perron) Fontaine whom she married November 28, 1968. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Aurelien and Marguerite (Belland) Fontaine.

Mr. Fontaine worked for the Woonsocket Parks Rec Dept. for ten years, and previously worked for Grainger Manufacturing for ten years. He enjoyed classic cars and car shows.

Along with his wife, Linda, he is survived by a son, Gerry Fontaine and his wife Laura of Mapleville; a daughter, Sheri Thibeault and her husband Robert of Chepachet; two brothers, Edgar Fontaine of Smithfield and Donald Fontaine of Burrillville; two sisters, Patricia Deslauriers of Florida and Lorraine Caswell of North Carolina; as well as, three grandsons, Nathan and Logan Thibeault and Kyle Fontaine. He was the brother of the late Richard, Robert, and Paul Fontaine, and Jeanne Trank.

A committal service will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at Noon in the chapel at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 - 7pm in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HopeHealth, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
