Germaine T. Paulette, 88, of North Smithfield, died peacefully January 20, 2024, at Miriam Hospital, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand Paulette. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and Eileen (Hodgkins) Remillard.
She is survived by her two children, Cathy Wilcox, and her husband Bruce, of North Smithfield, and James Paulette of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Matthew Wilcox and his wife Katie, and Cassandra Macias and her husband Anthony; and her great-granddaughter, Chloe Wilcox.
Germaine operated her own business Gerie's Beauty Salon on Cottage Street in Woonsocket for 48 years. She enjoyed the interaction with her clients (friends) throughout these many years. She adored her children above all else. The family loved to travel to New Hampshire and all-over New England when her children were young. One of their favorite summer spots was Green Hill Beach in Rhode Island. She was very talented with sewing. She created the drapes for her home and treasured the challenge of making her daughter’s prom dresses. She appreciated learning new things and followed the politics and discussions on talk radio. Her favorite programs were on local Woonsocket station, WNRI.
In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter Chole including attending many dance recitals.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
