Gilbert A. Gauthier, 72, of Woonsocket, died April 28, 2025 in the HopeHealth Hulitar Center, Providence. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Rene Gauthier and the late Theresa (Lamarche) Beausoleil.
Gilbert served Honorably as a Medic in the US Army and was stationed in Germany from 1971 to 1974. He was a land surveyor for many years and concluded his career as a construction inspector with the Department of Transportation from 2009 to current.
Gilbert loved/studied comedy on a daily basis. He was the Master of One Liners and left people laughing Wherever he went. Gill loved to play poker and to take daily Nature Walks. He also had interest in Basketball, Billiards, Fishing and He was also an enthusiastic Trainer of Blood Hounds. Gil was a Big, Genuine Spirit Matched by his Booming Laughter and Loud, Gravely Voice.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Charles Church, 8 Daniels St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
