Harvey D. Massey, Sr.

Harvey D. Massey, Sr., 73, of Cumberland, died May 25, 2021 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Deborah (Jarvis) Massey. Born in North Attleboro, MA, he was the son of Louise (Ruel) Massey of Cumberland, and the late Harvey H. Massey, Jr.

Harvey was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, he worked for many area Market Basket stores. Harvey enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, metal scrapping, and watching wrestling and baseball.

Besides his mother, Louise, he leaves two sons, Harvey D. Denny Massey, Jr. of Cumberland, and Timothy Massey and his wife Jamie of Foster; three brothers, Gerald Massey of Providence, Jeffrey Massey of Coventry, formerly of Cumberland, and Edgar Massey of Cumberland; two sisters, Rochelle Kryla and her husband, Ted, of West Palm Bay, FL and Vivian Cleary and her husband, James, of Fall River, MA; his granddaughter, Lily Massey, whom he cherished, of Foster; twelve nephews and nieces, Gerald B Massey, Jr., Logan (Phillip) Massey, Bradley Kryla, Natalie Kryla, Rebecca Kryla, Allison Kryla, Aimee (Cleary) Sousa, Renee (Cleary) Medeiros, James F. Cleary, III, Jessica A Massey, Angela R (Massey) Colantonio, and Michael C Massey.

His funeral will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 5-7 PM.
