Herbert H. Newlander, Jr.

Herbert H. Newlander, 80, of Woonsocket, died March 28, 2024 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Christine L. (Gaudreau) Newlander, to whom he was married 38 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Herbert H. and Mildred J. (Romblad) Newlander.

Herbert was an insurance salesman for John Hancock and Soucy Insurance. He enjoyed fishing, especially on Cape Cod, golfing, socializing, playing cards and collecting coins. Herbert enjoyed life.

Besides his wife, Christine, he leaves his brother in law, Frank Gaudreau and his wife, Susan, of Burrillville; two nieces Chelsea Nance and Marissa Gaudreau; his nephew, Robert Gaudreau. He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Beaulieu.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, Attn: Donation Gifts, 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI 02917.
