J. David Lefrancois, 74, of Cumberland, passed away December 3, 2023 at home after a six year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of thirty-four years of Susan (Belleville) Lefrancois. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Jean-Paul and Jennie (Zhawred) Lefrancois.
Mr. Lefrancois was a 1967 graduate of Mt. St. Charles and received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1971 from Providence College. He worked locally for fifty years as a CPA, controller, tax preparer, and trusted advisor, retiring in 2017 from Fisher P.C., Attleboro, MA. David enjoyed watching the Patriots and movies, and walks with his black lab Lucy. He was civically involved locally in several organizations, including the Woonsocket Chamber of Commerce.
Along with his wife, Susan, he is survived by his son, John Lefrancois of Plainville, MA; two sisters, Jane Liard and Joan Lefrancois, both of North Smithfield; and a nephew.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 beginning with visitation from 10 - 11:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in David's memory be directed to Dr. Safran's Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at The Miriam Hospital.
