Jacqueline C. (Girard) Pelletier, 77, of North Smithfield, passed away peacefully February 10, 2024 in St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Roland R. Pelletier. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Doris (Anger) Girard and the sister of the late Bertrand Girard.
Jackie worked as a budget analyst and office manager for the U.S. Probation Office in Providence for twenty-five years, retiring in 2004. Jackie was a very active member of the faith community at Holy Trinity Parish, where she served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister, taught religious education and marriage preparation classes, and worked the parish BINGO, food pantry, and annual carnival. Jackie also volunteered at St. Antoine residence for many years.
Jackie was a loving mother, mémère, matante, sister-in-law and friend. Everyone who knew Jackie said that she was the kindest person they ever met. She was a great example of kindness, generosity, independence, faith, and resilience. Jackie enjoyed spending time with her cherished friends and her faithful dog, Beau. She treasured her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren with whom she loved to spend time. Jackie was famous for her delicious cookies, which she baked with love for many special occasions. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Pelletier and his wife, Lynne, of Forestdale, and Daniel Pelletier and his wife, Jennifer, of Sterling, VA; and three grandchildren, Thomas Pelletier of North Smithfield, Emily Pelletier of Scarborough, ME, and Jonathan Pelletier of Forestdale. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Women & Infants Hospital, St Antoine Residence and Hope Hospice for providing Jacqueline with loving care and dignity in her final days.
Her funeral will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM.
