James F. Gillooley

James F. Gillooley, 81, of Second Ave., Woonsocket, died January 11, 2017 at home. He was the husband of Shirley (Fontaine) Gillooley whom he married November 7, 1959. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Cruise) Gillooley.

An Air Force Veteran, Mr. Gillooley earned a Bachelors Degree from Bryant University, Smithfield and worked over thirty years as a manager for Amperex, North Smithfield. Poppy, as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, was dedicated to physical fitness and was an avid runner.

Besides his wife, Shirley, he is survived by four children, Michael Gillooley and his wife Nancy of Richmond, Kevin Gillooley and his wife Cindy of Woonsocket, Paula Woodmansee and her husband James of Lincoln and Loren Renaud and her husband Eric of Mechanicville, NY; a sister, Barbara Gautreau and her husband Lucien of Cumberland, twelve grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 from 2 4 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Heart Center, 186 Cass Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
