James J. Tracy, Jr.

James J. Tracy, Jr., 74, of North Smithfield, RI, passed away on January 15, 2021 after a long battle with lymphoma. He was the husband of Lucia A. (Kruczynski) Tracy, whom he married August 24, 1968. He was born in Southbridge, MA, and was the son of the late James J. Tracy, Sr., and Theda (Kowalewski) Tracy.

Mr. Tracy was a graduate of Classical High School, Worcester, MA, and earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Clark University, Worcester, MA. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving two tours with the Marine Corps, earning a Purple Heart. James was a member of Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, the Marine Corps Heritage, the Tun Tavern Society, and the Telephone Pioneers. James was a devoted family man who enjoyed travelling the world with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, walking his dog, Zoe, and feeding and watching the birds.

Besides his wife, Lucia, he leaves their children, Kimberley Bucal of Milford, MA, Melissa Malone and her husband, Michael, of Whitinsville, MA, and Gareth Tracy and his wife, Bethany, of Warwick, RI; his brother, Charles Tracy, of Venice, FL; two sisters, Marcia Hughes of East Boothbay, ME, and Joanne Kelleher of Worcester, MA; six grandchildren, Ian, Madison, Sophia, Olivia, Mackenzie, and Annabelle.

His funeral will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville or may be viewed live at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/384440 Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Department Headquarters, One Capitol Hill, Level G, Providence, RI 02908, or to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway, Triangle, VA 22172-1938.
