James "Jimmy" J. Haczynski, 52, of North Smithfield, passed away November 9, 2024. He was the loving husband of twenty-three years of Holly (Albuquerque) Haczynski. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Jane F. (Puzon) Gelineau of North Smithfield and Leon A. Haczynski of Port Charlotte, FL. He was the stepson of the late Joseph Gelineau and Janet Haczynski.
Jimmy was a 1991 graduate of North Smithfield High School and was a demolition and excavation expert who served as the owner/operator of Rhode Island Disposal, North Smithfield, since 2002. He was the "go to guy" for so many people because of his vast knowledge, meticulousness and attention to detail, along with his reliability and dependability. Jimmy was a hard worker, but he had a passion for all things cars. In his free time, he would use his immense mechanical and bodywork skills to restore cars and various other machines. Jimmy was a dynamic and trusting person who was loved by all who met him.
Along with his wife, mother, and father, he is survived by his three beloved children, Kelsey Haczynski, Jaime LaFazia, and James A. Haczynski all of North Smithfield; his cat, Teddie, AKA Mr. Whisk; his sister, Lisa McIntyre and her husband, Daniel, of Dennis, MA; and his step siblings, Nancy Williams and her husband, Steve, of Burrillville, Joseph Gelineau and his wife, Elaine, of East Greenwich, Jean Gelineau of Bellingham, Gary Gelineau of Bellingham, Kathy Provost and her husband, Joseph of MA and Michael Struzik and his wife, Katie of NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 - 8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at stjude.org
