Jeannine D. (Brissette) Stevens, aka “Morning” 90, of Blackstone, MA, passed away November 14, 2024 at home. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph F. Stevens aka “Fuji”. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Alice (Duhamel) Brissette.
Jeannine worked as a teacher's aid at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Blackstone, MA for eleven years. She later worked for Waters Corporation for ten years prior to her retirement in September, 2001. Jeannine enjoyed reading, movies, going to the theater, bowling and traveling in her spare time. Above all, her favorite thing to do was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, they were her life.
If there was a birthday party, sporting event, band concert, religious ceremony, karate exhibition, dance recital, graduation or wedding, Morning was right there cheering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on and enjoying every moment of it.
Many years of Thanksgiving dinners cooked by Morning and Fuji, the $5 gift exchange at Christmas (a tradition she started), and backyard cookouts/pool parties made family time special.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail Dean and her husband Robert, of North Smithfield, and Donna Hagan, of Harrisville; her sons James Stevens, of Blackstone, MA and Thomas Stevens and his wife Denise, of Cumberland, RI; her sister, Theresa Vermette, of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren, David Dean, Christopher Dean and his wife Brianna, Lisa Dean and her partner Dave Purpura, Stephanie Arpin and her husband Brad, Kimberly Hagan and her partner Jon Rotatori, and Tyler Stevens; and seven great grandchildren, Kyle Dean, Dylan Dean, Stella and Samuel Dean, Cole and Will Arpin and Leon Rotatori. She was the sister of the late Doris Dansereau, Leo Brissette, and Lucille Lariviere. She was the mother in law of the late Paul Hagan with whom she shared a close relationship.
Morning (a name given to her by her first grandson David) will be missed tremendously by her family and her passing has left a hole in their hearts which will now be filled with precious memories. May she rest in peace and watch over her loving family.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 beginning with visitation from 9 - 10:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Divine Mercy Parish, 48 St. Paul St, Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 261 W Wrentham Rd, Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bradley Hospital, 1011 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, East Providence, RI 02915
