Joan M. (Welles) Cook

Joan M. (Welles) Cook, 92, of Warwick, died August 28, 2025 in Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. She was the wife of the late Avery O. Cook, whom she married May 8, 1954. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Henry) Welles.

Mrs. Cook was a telephone operator for New England Telephone.

She leaves her children, John Cook and his wife, Susan of Franklin, Jeffery Cook and his wife, Fran, of Jamestown, Dean Cook and his wife, Annette, of Scituate, and James Cook and his wife, Dee, of Warwick; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Newsome.

Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
