John A. Couture

John A. Couture, 78, of East Providence, RI, passed away October 11, 2024 in Orchard View Manor. He was the longtime companion of Christine Crepeau of Coventry. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Albert Couture and Jeanne (Parent) Couture-DeChellis.

John was a graduate of LaSalle Academy. He served in the Air Force. John worked in construction for most of his life, and enjoyed NASCAR.

Besides his companion, Christine, he leaves his daughter, Nicole Hoogendoorn and her husband, Darin of Texas; four brothers, Charles Couture and his wife, Beverly Ann, Daniel Couture and his wife, June, Edmond Couture and his wife, Mariellen, and Luc Couture and his wife, Donna; two sisters, Elise Vetri and her husband, Alan, and Emilie Buzzi and her husband, Jon; two sisters in law, Theresa and Diane Couture; two grandsons, Curtis and Casey Stratton; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Philippe and Gerald Couture.

His funeral will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, beginning with visitation from 2-4 PM, followed by a service at 4 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
