John J. Morin, 67, of Blackstone, passed away November 10, 2025 at home. Born in Northbridge, MA, he was the son of the late Albert Morin, Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” (O'Brien) Morin.
John worked with Ed Maloney at Marathon Amusements, helping to fix and repair pinball machines. He was an accomplished athlete, competing in marathons and races nationwide with his large network of friends, including the Falmouth Marathon, the Peachtree Marathon in Georgia, and several events in California. He enjoyed skiing, playing and coaching basketball, and was the scoreboard operator for the men's basketball league in Blackstone. John was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and above all else, he had an outgoing and infectious personality, and was dearly loved by all who met him.
He is survived by his siblings, Albert "Buster' Morin, Jr., and his wife, Gloria, of Blackstone, and Patricia Robinson and her husband, Jack, of Blackstone; his nieces and nephews, Sarah Boucher and her husband, Matthew, Timmie Robinson, Kelli Robinson and her wife, Karen Boutwell, Chad Morin and his wife, Annette, Kristen Robinson, Matthew Morin, and Thomas Morin; as well as, several great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10AM in Divine Mercy Parish at St. Paul’s Church, 48 St. Paul St., Blackstone, MA 01504. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held, Thursday from 4-7PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blackstone/Millville Food Pantry at Divine Mercy Parish.
