Obituary

Leonard H Hanson, 76, of North Smithfield, died October 29, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Linda L. (Mowry) Hanson. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Harold Hanson and the late Elaine (Girard) Pizzarelli.



Leonard worked as an EMS Dispatcher for the Town of Millville. He served his community as a firefighter & EMT with NSFD and Primrose Fire Department, volunteering for 25 years. He served as a Board Member on NS R&A Association, and a life member of NRA & DAV.



Leonard was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and eating a good meal with family and friends. He was an antique car enthusiast. Leonard served his country as a member of the Air Force from 1961-1965, stationed at a SAC base during Cuban Missile Crisis.



Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Gahr, and her husband, Seth of NH, Rebecca Davis, and her husband, Steve of MA; four grandchildren, Conor and MaKena Gahr and Helaina and Elliot Davis; and four siblings, Brian and Mark Pizzarelli, Elaine Snyzyk and Linda Bonneau. He was predeceased by his siblings, Carolyn Cabral and Lewis Pizzarelli. He will be missed by many friends and his Cat, May.



A visitation will be Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 6-7PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
