Lionel H. Marien, 93, of Mendon Rd., died February 15, 2017 in The Holiday Rehabilitation Center, Lincoln. He was the husband of the late Rosamond (Dolan) Marien and the late Muriel (Drainville) Marien. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Antoinette (Marien) Barrett.
An Air Force Veteran of WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam, Mr. Marien worked as a Construction Equipment Manager, retiring in 1988. He was a volunteer for RI Arc, was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by three sons, James Marien and his wife Alice of Hebron, CT, William Marien and his wife Gladys of Phoenix, AZ and John Marien of Lincoln; a daughter, Kathleen Dawber and her husband Thomas of Warwick; two stepsons, Marc Desaulniers of Missouri and David Desaulniers of Woonsocket, and three grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Dawber and Alissa Liteplo.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017, beginning with visitation at 8:45 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School St., Albion. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to the Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman St. #306, Providence, RI 02906.
