Lionel Taillon Obituary

Lionel H. "Skip" Taillon, 87, of North Smithfield, passed away November 30, 2024 at the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield, surrounded by his family. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lionel J. and Dorothy I. (Daggett) Taillon.

Skip served in the Naval Reserves for twenty years and worked as an auto body specialist for Central Chrysler in Norwood, MA and previously worked for several auto body shops in the Woonsocket area. Skip enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and the local bus trips to the casinos at Foxwoods and Mohegan, was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the former Rhode Island Reds, loved listening to Engelbert Humperdinck, and had a fondness for dogs, especially most recently for, Indie, in which they formed and inseparable bond. In his younger years, he liked to go fishing, snowmobiling, and ballroom dancing. Skip was known to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it, but his passion in life was his family. He loved spending time with his children, and especially his grandchildren, who he adored and cherished.

He is survived by two daughters, Robin Najarian and her husband, Robert, of North Smithfield and Debra Swanton and her husband, John, of North Smithfield; two brothers, Richard Taillon of Port Charlotte, FL, and Michael Taillon of Lincoln, and his ex-wife Estelle Macwhirter of Pembroke Pines, FL; four grandchildren, Ashley, Karissa, Zachary, and Elijiah; and a great granddaughter, Emma Estelle.
