Lorraine V. Caron

Lorraine V. Caron, 82, of Westerly, formerly of Woonsocket, died peacefully on October 27, 2024 in Westerly Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Chicago, IL Lorraine was the proud daughter and eldest child of the late Joseph and Rose (Tardif) Caron.

Lorraine graduated with honors from St. Clare High School in Woonsocket, and entered the workforce as an intelligent and elegant young lady shortly thereafter. She retired after a stellar 38 year career as an Assistant Bank Manager for Fleet Bank in Woonsocket. She also enjoyed having fun as a part time cocktail waitress at the El Toro Lounge/Village Haven in North Smithfield. She adored and spent a great deal of time with family members, especially spoiling her nieces and nephews, referring to them as her "little ones". She loved her dogs, and became an avid animal humanitarian by volunteering her time along with her neighborhood friend, Cindy, to gather feral cats and provide funding for their neutering services. She was an avid singer and dancer and enjoyed quahogging at the beach with her father and brothers.

She is survived her siblings, Victor Caron and his wife Cathy, of Westerly and Carol Turcotte of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Dennis and Richard Caron and Doris Pickering.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 starting with a visitation at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 310 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Project Precious Rescue, PO Box 17307, Stamford, CT 06907.
