Lorraine C. Slaney

Lorraine C. (Mousseau) Slaney, 63, of Providence passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 6th, at home. She was born on August 5, 1957 in Woonsocket, RI and was the daughter of the late Albert and Lucille Mousseau of North Smithfield. She was the sister of Marcel (Kristina) Mousseau, of Marstons Mills, MA, Richard (Lynne) Mousseau of Stratham, NH and the late Janet Vitale of Woonsocket, RI. She was the devoted wife of the late Kevin Slaney, of Fairfield, ME.

She received her accounting degree, cum laude, from Providence College in 1985. In April 1982, she formed Marchwicki Associates in Providence with her late business partner, and best friend Edward Marchwicki. She loved working with her numerous clients and developed close friendships with so many at the firm through the 38 years, including Eds wife Brenda. Lorraine was involved in several professional organizations. She was a member of SWAPs Finance Committee and also a member of the 100 Club of Rhode Island, Inc. Nominating Committee. Lorraine was an avid dog lover, and volunteered at the Providence Animal Rescue League in her spare time.

Lorraine loved spending time and taking trips with the Slaney family from Maine. She was a caring daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, niece and friend to so many people who she loved and who loved her and will miss her terribly.

Due to COVID-19 concerns and necessary safety precautions, services will be held at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine.
