Louis M. Ferschke, 66, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 29, 2024 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the loving husband of Denise (Larence) Ferschke, whom he married August 7, 1993. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Roger and Pauline (Leclerc) Ferschke.
Mr. Ferschke worked as a receiver for CVS for forty years. He enjoyed gardening and beautifying his backyard so all could enjoy it. Louis enjoyed the ocean and loved treating the entire family to annual summer beach vacations. Louis was always joking, and loved music and entertaining, was a master cook, loved having a house full of laughter and always welcomed all for the holidays and weekly Sunday dinners. Most of all, Louis, better known as "Papa" loved his girls, and was so proud of each and every one of his grandchildren! He also held a very special place in his heart for his German Shepherd, Greta.
Along with his wife, Denise, he is survived by three daughters, Lynn Bouley, and her husband, Brian, of Woonsocket, Kim Caron, and her husband, Timothy, of Westerly, and Kristin Briar, and her husband, Ronald, of Blackstone; his brothers, John Ferschke of Woonsocket, Marc Ferschke of Berlin, NH, Paul Ferschke of Cumberland; his sisters, Denise Ferschke of Woonsocket, Carol Lebrun of Blackstone, MA; as well as his many nieces and nephews, in addition to his amazing grandchildren, Breann, Brittany, Madison, Adam, Morgan, Shannon, Olivia, Paige, Jake, Brady, Rosalie, Benjamin, and Luke. He was predeceased by his late brother Jules Ferschke.
Papa will always be remembered for his wittiness, caring heart and his unconditional love.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
