Lynne Harrell Obituary

Lynne A. (Southwick) Harrell, 67, of North Smithfield, died March 22, 2021 in Bayberry Commons Nursing Home, Burrillville. She was the wife of Richard P. Harrell, whom she married September 24, 1983. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Isabelle R. (MacDougall) Southwick.

Lynne was a 1971 graduate of Woonsocket High School, and earned her Bachelors Degree in 1975 from Rhode Island College. She later attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Lynne worked as a reference assistant for the John Carter Brown Library, Providence. She was four time Worthy Matron of the Woonsocket Chapter of the Eastern Star, and was the Worthy Grand Matron of the Rhode Island Chapter from 2014-2015. Lynne was a member of the former Globe Congregational Church. She was a current active member of Slatersville Congregational Church, where she served as a deacon, and a member of its choir.

Besides her husband, Richard, she leaves their daughter, Meaghan Castro, and her husband, Michael, of Attleboro, MA; and her grandson, Oliver P. Castro.

Her visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2-4 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. Funeral services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
