M. Christian Joseph, 100, of Blackstone, MA, went forever aloft on September 23, 2023 to be reunited with his beloved wife, Mary (Corey) Joseph. Born in Angouleme, France, he was the son of the late James and Lucy (Veyret) Joseph.
He is survived by a daughter, Christine Asmus; a son, Bruce (Diane) Joseph; five grandchildren, Kareen (Adam), Sven, Jason (Kara), Bethany (Kyle), and Gregory; as well as, four great grandchildren, Rory, Rilynn, Hazel, and Bode. He was the brother of the late Jessie Joseph.
Mr. Joseph was a member of the VFW Post 7172, Bellingham, MA, a WWII combat veteran of the 8th and 15th Air Force, flying 54 bombing missions over Germany and occupied Europe. He also flew on B29 Bombers in the 13th Air Force as an observer in the Pacific Theater, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and several air medals. In his civilian life, he worked as a TV technician for the former Ed's TV, Woonsocket, retiring in 1984.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 beginning with visitation from 9 – 10:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Divine Mercy Parish at St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul St., Blackstone. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaver St., Franklin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
