Marcel Laplante

Marcel Laplante, 76, of Black Plain Rd., North Smithfield, died January 16, 2020 at his home. He was the husband of Lorraine (Bourget) Laplante whom he married September 5, 1970. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Leopold and Cecile (Beaucage) Laplante.

Marcel worked as a computer inspector for his entire career. He was totally devoted to his family, and loved both vintage and fast cars. He was a jack of all trades, taking pride in his work as a groundskeeper at his church for many years.

Along with his wife Lorraine, he is survived by their daughter, Kristina Jolin of Douglas, MA, their son, Kenneth Laplante of Northbridge, MA; five grandchildren, Austin Peloquin, Kenneth Laplante, and Trevor, Toriana, and Titus Jolin; as well as his sister, Pauline Dupre of Blackstone, MA.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10 AM in the First Assembly of God Church, 420 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
