Margaret M. Lizotte

Margaret M. Peggy Lizotte, 85, of North Smithfield, died June 6, 2020 in her home. She was the wife of Donald J. Pop Lizotte, whom she married February 27, 1954. Born in North Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Cecelia (Carey) McCabe.



Peggy was a graduate of Blackstone High School, and attended Hill College. She began her career working for Emmott Valley Transportation Company. She then worked 35 years at the former Warwick Shoppers World, Ames, and Zayre Department Store, where she started as a sales clerk, while reaching the position of executive secretary to many district managers. After retirement, Peggy was a lunch aide at both Our Lady of the Valley School, Uxbridge, and the North Smithfield School Department. She enjoyed traveling to Florida, Maine, and New Hampshire, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she leaves their children, Kevin Lizotte and his wife, Diane, of North Smithfield, and Karen Smith and her husband, Al, of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Erin, Kristen, Jamie, Casey, and Taylor; and three great grandchildren, Kiarra, Cody, and Morgan. She was predecased by her son, Jeffery Lizotte; her brother, John McCabe; and her sister, Barbara Bachmaier.

Private funeral arrangments were held under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
