Marie Deziel

Marie (Masucci) Deziel, 91, of North Smithfield, died August 26, 2024 in her home, surrounded by her loving children. She was the wife of the late Raymond Deziel, to whom she was married 59 years. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mazzarella) Masucci.

Marie worked as a teacher's aide in the North Smithfield Elementary School system for many years, and touched many young lives throughout the years. She was a devoted Catholic and communicant of Holy Trinity Church. Her greatest joys were her family, whom she always put first, and her home, which was her haven, where she happily raised her family.

She leaves her children, Christopher Deziel, Paula Manley and her husband Stephen, and Joan Bissonnette and her husband, Marc, all of North Smithfield; seven grandchildren, Erica, Jenna, Blaire, Nicole, Ian, Monique, and Bryce; and her great granddaughter, Morgan. She was predeceased by her sons, Mark and Brian Deziel.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. Calling hours are Wednesday, from 4-6 PM.
