Martha M. (Robidoux) Cote

Marie Marthe "Martha" (Robidoux) Cote, a beloved resident of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the age of 91. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel, with whom she shared a loving marriage for 67 years since April 24, 1954.
Martha was a devoted mother to her six children: Diane Brackett, Michael Cote, Marcel Cote, Charlie Cote, Maureen Rodrigues, and Timothy Cote, along with their spouses. Her family grew to include eleven cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Originally from Albion, Martha moved to Woonsocket and then North Smithfield, where she and Marcel owned Cote's Auto Body. She served as a dedicated postal employee for over 33 years, including 12 years as postmaster at Forestdale Post Office before retiring. Martha earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and community through her commitment to service.
Martha loved spending time with her family, relatives, and friends. An avid and ruthless card player, she was always up for a game and could frequently be found at local senior citizen centers playing in pitch or cribbage tournaments.
A long-time parishioner and Eucharistic minister at St. John the Evangelist Church in Slatersville, RI, Martha made history as the first female president of the North Smithfield Lions Club, giving her time and devotion to others. Her passion for travel and camping created countless memories with her loved ones, showcasing her adventurous spirit and love for exploration.
Her funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 9:30 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. Woonsocket, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Saint John the Evangelist, 63 Church Street, Slatersville, RI 02876. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland. Calling hours are Friday, June 20, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
